Saxophonist/composer Sean Imboden and his ensemble will perform fresh takes on jazz standards as well as modern pieces.
Sean Imboden is an American saxophonist and composer. Sean toured internationally for many years with various Broadway productions, and as a featured soloist with Blast II. He has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and with the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, Idina Menzel, and Slide Hampton.
Sean currently leads the Sean Imboden Large Ensemble, a 17-piece modern big band of Indianapolis-based musicians playing original compositions. Sean also leads various small groups, and is a member of several other ensembles, including Tucker Brothers, Hickey-Shanafelt 9ollective, Indy Saxophone Quartet, Jesse Wittman Quartet, and Butler Generations Ensemble.
Sean has been a member of the Butler University faculty for five years and also teaches in the Butler Youth Jazz Program and Summer Jazz Camps.
