Join Butler faculty artists Dana Zenobi (soprano) and DJ Smith (piano) for an art song program titled “An Emily Dickinson Study”. Listeners will immerse themselves in the works of this beloved American poet as the performers present settings by several American composers. The concert includes a full performance of Aaron Copland’s famous 12 Poems of Emily Dickinson song collection, as well as art song settings of Dickinson’s words by living composers Adolphus Hailstork, Lori Laitman and Jake Heggie, and historical composers including Vincent Persichetti and Lee Hoiby. Come immerse yourself in the words of the incomparable Emily Dickinson brought to life through the music of major American composers.
