At the start of this pandemic when all things shut down including musical concerts, the Musicians of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra began creating music and sharing their talents through videos online. Clarinetist Trina Gross asked four friends from the orchestra to play a short sampling of the Larghetto from the Mozart Quintet for Clarinet and String Quartet for a multitrack video that was brilliantly made by violinist Jennifer Farquhar. She named us “QuaranTrina.” As the warmer months allowed, we planned concerts and performed in many neighborhoods bringing live music to friends and neighbors.
We come together once again to play wonderful quintets for clarinet and string quartet by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Johannes Brahms, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart featuring Butler faculty clarinetist Trina Gross with special guests, Jennifer Farquhar and Lisa Scott, violins; Amy Kniffen, viola; and Perry Scott, cello.
