Faculty and guest alumni of the Butler University School of Music will present a recital of music for solo brass by a variety of composers, including Hindemith, Bernstein, Scriabin, William Grant Still, and others. Also, the artists will present one of the first works written for the modern brass quintet, the Ewald Symphony for Brass or Quintet No. 1 in Bb minor, which will be performed using the original instrumentation of exclusively conical brass instruments.
