Behind the Curtain – a fun evening of one-act operas with Butler Opera Theatre. Join us in the Schrott Center on April 1st and 2nd for two great one-act operas about opera. Starting with Mozart’s one act comedy The Impresario (sung in English with supertitles) we look backstage at the workings of an opera company where the Real Divas of Butler University scare off the old boss. After intermission we see opera on television in Milton Granger’s Talk Opera. Cookie, the popular host of Cookie Time invites the Duke of Mantua, Gilda, and her father Rigoletto (yes, from Verdi’s opera!) to come and talk about their emotional and interpersonal problems. The audience tries to help, but does everyone’s public judgement just make it all worse? Come watch and you’ll find out.
