SHALL WE DANCE? Join the Butler University Chorale for an evening of choral dance, as we present Neue Liebeslieder (“New Lovesong Waltzes”), Op. 65, by Johannes Brahms. His second foray into the genre, this 15-movement collection features evocative poetry (by Johann Goethe, and numerous unnamed authors), soaring vocals and scintillating piano in a tour-de-force musical extravaganza. The performance features the full Butler Chorale, plus numerous solos/duets/small ensembles by its talented members. Butler MM piano performance majors Douglas Perez and Geoff Stemen provide the four-hand piano accompaniment. Also featured on Thursday evening’s broadcast are the latest selections by the Butler Chamber Choir, including Franz Biebl’s timeless “Ave Maria” and a new composition by noted vocal jazz arranger Darmon Meader.
