To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth, the Butler University School of Music presented the complete 32 Piano Sonatas in a series of nine recitals. Throughout 2020, Beethoven celebrations happened at venues all around the world, and Butler was proud to present this series as part of the international festivities.

Sonata No. 18 in E-flat Major, op. 31, no. 3 (“The Hunt”), performed by Yu-Lien The, Western Michigan University
Sonata No. 24 in F-sharp Major, op. 78 (“À Thérèse”), performed by Johan Botes, Marshall University
Sonata No. 30 in E Major, op. 109, performed by Kent Cook, Illinois Wesleyan University
